Visit by Iñaki Hualde and Néstor Etxaleku, directors of the new ESPIGA Center

Today we enjoyed a visit from Iñaki Hualde, technical director, and Néstor Etxaleku, business development director at the Cereal Innovation Center, ESPIGA.

Espiga is an R&D center dedicated to innovation in the cereal sector through science, technology, specific training, and collaboration. In 2025, it joined ADITECH, consolidating its European vocation through participation in EU-sponsored programs.

During our meeting, they explained the reason for their presence in the EU capital: to consolidate their relations with the powerful sector in Flanders and the possibility of strengthening ties with similar centers.

Despite its youth, ESPIGA is the only center in the south of the EU that works, researches, and innovates in both facets of cereal derivative processing.

For our part, we introduced them to the Office and offered them all the support they need to consolidate their presence in the heart of the EU.
