European Cross-Border Platform Annual Meeting in Brussels

On June 10th-11th, a team from the Government of Navarre's Interregional Cooperation and Overseas Citizenship Service will participate in the annual meeting of the European Cross-Border Platform (ECBP). We will be pleased to accompany them throughout the event.

This annual meeting will provide an opportunity to present and discuss the needs and potential of border regions, their citizens, and local authorities. Participants will analyze recent political developments affecting cooperation, as well as practical experiences, new approaches, and policy solutions for cross-border regions.

As part of European Territorial Cooperation, cross-border cooperation is one of the pillars of European integration and the strengthening of the single market. Although progress has been made in recent years in facilitating cross-border interactions, many obstacles remain. Citizens, businesses, and administrations in border regions continue to face difficulties in their daily lives, whether in finding employment, accessing healthcare, commuting to work, or overcoming administrative hurdles.

Navarre is part of the New Aquitaine-Euskadi-Navarre EGCT, and currently chairs the Pyrenees Working Committee (CTP). Within our 2025-2028 External Action Plan, we have a specific focus on cross-border cooperation. This event presents an opportunity to advance cooperation and overcome the challenges that still exist in order to achieve a true Union without borders.
