A delegation formed by members of the External Action service, the public company European Business and Innovation Center of Navarra (CEIN) and nine startups have participated at the headquarters of the Delegation of the Government of Navarra in Brussels in a meeting with representatives of the European Innovation Council (EIC) and the Directorate General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD) of the European Commission.
The Navarre representation team was made up of Silvia Ojer (director of the European Projects Office), Iñigo Uharte (head of unit of the Permanent Office of Navarra to the EU), Eva Gómara (head of the CEIN Incubator area), Amaia Urtasun (coordinator of the Tech FabLab program at CEIN) and heads of the CEIN ecosystem companies Cocuus, Genbioma, Ingredalia, Kronis, Lab4Impact, MOA Foodtech, Muxunav, Nucaps and Ysium Medical.
The purpose of the meeting was to learn first-hand about European initiatives to support innovation and the development of startups. In this framework, Isidro Laso, Senior official of the EIC, explained the ‘EU Startups and Scaleups Strategy’ and the EIC programmes such as the Accelerator, which provides support for scaling and the deployment of new markets through combined funding. For her part, Magdalena Cymerys, Policy officer at DG R&D, presented the programmes for the development of regional innovation valleys and European innovation ecosystems, which aim to create more connected and efficient ecosystems that favour the growth of companies.
