CPMR - Navarre endorses de Cardiff Declaration, which promotes the creation of an Atlantic macro-region in Cardiff

The regions comprising the Atlantic Arc of the Conference of Peripheral and Maritime Regions (CPMR) have approved a declaration calling for an update to European cooperation regarding the Atlantic Strategy, and urging member states to address the challenges facing the Atlantic region. Specifically, the declaration calls for the messages contained in the ministerial declaration to be signed during the event to be considered at the next Atlantic ministerial meeting, organized by Portugal in October 2023. Furthermore, it calls on the Spanish Government to make the Atlantic macro-region a political priority, and on the Council to mandate the European Commission to develop this initiative, taking into account the proposals included in this declaration.
